Because this site is still young, my ordering policy is very basic. If you do not mind ordering through PayPal, feel free to make your selections with the PayPal buttons found throughout the site then continue to your PayPal Shopping Cart to Checkout. If you prefer to pay for your order with Personal Check or Money Order or if you wish to use my Layaway Plan, please send an email of inquiry for availability of any items you wish to purchase to bluecalliope@att.net.   Please briefly describe the item and include the Item Number and price in your inquiry. Orders paid via Money Order will ship same or next day (depending on what time I get the mail). Personal Checks will be held 10 days for funds to clear before shipment of order.

 Shipping charges include shipping in a sturdy cardboard box with plenty of padding via USPS First Class Mail.  Appropriate Insurance as well as Delivery Confirmation is included in the shipping costs.  If you wish to have your order shipped via another method or if you are an international customer, please send an email to me for shipping charges.

Return Policy

We want our customers to be happy!  We do our best to describe all pieces accurately - bumps & bruises and all! 

If you are not pleased with your purchase in any way:

•  Please contact us within 3 days of receipt of your order. 

• You may return merchandise to us in the same condition it was sent out for your choice of a full refund, equal exchange or store credit. Shipping charges are not refundable.

• Items must be returned using an insured mailing method - USPS First Class Mail; USPS Priority Mail; USPS Parcel Post are all insurable and acceptable methods for return of merchandise. Please insure for the original purchase price of the returned merchandise.

• Please package merchandise carefully!

• If you paid via PayPal a refund will be processed through PayPal.

• If you paid via Personal Check or Money Order a refund check (less shipping charges) will be mailed within 3 days of receipt of merchandise by us.

• Returns in violation of this Return Policy will be subject to a restocking fee of 20% of the purchase price of the merchandise.

• Layaway is available on orders totaling  $100 or more including orders of multiple items. If you need to use a layaway to make a purchase, please request a Layaway HOLD.
  

• Layaway payment can only be accepted by check or money order, only.  If payment through PayPal is necessary, then the receiving fees charged to Blue Calliope will be added on to the total purchase price to be paid by buyer.
  

• An initial down payment of 1/3 (one third) plus shipping fee is required within ten days of confirming the order.
  

• The initial deposit of 1/3 (one third) of the order total is non-refundable in the case of a cancelled order.
  

• The second 1/3 payment is due thirty (30) days after the down payment, and the remaining balance is due in sixty days.
  

• More flexible schedules may be made on request.
  

• Please mark YOUR calendar in advance of the due dates and make the payments on schedule as no reminders are sent.
  

• Default of Layaway Policy: Layaways are in default when the down payment is not received within the ten day hold period or when the payments are not received within five days of the due dates. In the event of a layaway being cancelled by the buyer prior to my receipt of the final payment, the initial 1/3 down payment will not be refunded and the items will be re-listed as available for sale on the website. Any additional amounts that have been paid will be refunded.
  

• If payments are not made in a timely manner, your order may be cancelled and the items returned as available for sale. The Default of Layaway policy will then be in effect and the original 1/3 deposit will be forfeited, all other payment amounts will be refunded. We do not send out payment reminders, it is your responsibility to schedule and keep track of payment due dates.

Privacy Policy

Blue Calliope does not collect the names and email addresses of our customers with the intent for distribution to third parties.  Your private information is important to us and will remain exactly that - private! 

Your payment information is used solely for the completion of your order.

Customers who have purchased from us may have their email addresses retained for Blue Calliope's mailing list. This mailing list will be sent our to customers to announce first notification of site updates, special sales, and other offers not available to the general public. Removal instructions will be included in the newsletter if you wish to be removed.

• Mint: New, in the box (from which it has never been removed), as it came from the factory. This criteria is so difficult to meet, that it is almost NEVER used.

• Near Mint: Appears to be never worn or used, nor stored improperly. It may display its age by tarnishing, especially in silver (once polished, however, it is no longer Near Mint).

• Excellent: Top condition with no chipping, fading, missing stones, no yellowing stones, no peeling, no worn prongs or edges. Backs (especially of earrings) may be very slightly worn as long as the front is still in Top Condition. Replaced stones should be so perfect in size cut and color that it is virtually unnoticeable.

• Very Good: Well cared for with no missing stones, no dead stones or graying stones, no peeling pearls, enamel may have minor chips, may show slight  wear or scratching on prongs, edges. Backs may be very moderately worn. Replaced stones should be a good match in size, cut and color.

• Good: Very wearable and acceptable, however, upon close inspection may reveal some poor foiling including spotting( the small "pepper" kind), minor clouding and minor darkening or graying stones, chipping, minor yellowing and  wear.

• Fair: Damage is immediately visible and may or may not be repairable, and might include missing stones, dark stones including spotting that is more than "pepper", broken parts, & severe wear.

In addition these subcategories may exist, along with appropriate explanations:

•  Altered
• Refurbished
• Reconstructed
• Soldered

Condition versus Quality: Each piece of jewelry is evaluated according to condition (see above).  The condition rating does not address the original quality. Costume jewelry was and is made in all grades of quality. A goodly amount of costume jewelry that was inexpensively made has become collectible. Quality is difficult to rate and isn't always apparent in the pictures . If your purchase does not meet your expectations, please let me know.
